What is OffScript?
OffScript is a student-run, in-person Bay Area hackathon where high school students spend one day building projects, joining workshops, and presenting what they make. It is a creative building event, not a cybersecurity competition.
Eligibility
OffScript is for high school students. No previous coding experience or team is required. Register through the Luma link on this website; review the requirements shown there before registering.
Venue + event hours
OffScript is scheduled for January 30, 2027, with a venue planned in San Francisco. Event hours are 9:00 AM–6:00 PM PST. The exact venue and address are pending. We are planning for 75–150 students; final capacity depends on the venue. The homepage schedule is a draft, not a confirmed arrival or pickup plan. Confirmed logistics will be shared with accepted attendees and guardians.
Supervision
Approximately five adult supervisors are planned. Final staffing, coverage, and on-site points of contact are still being finalized.
Guardian consent
Guardian consent requirements and the consent process are pending. Any required forms and deadlines will be shared before participation.
Emergency procedures
Emergency contacts, first-aid arrangements, evacuation procedures, and the process for contacting a guardian are pending venue and staffing confirmation. Organizers will share the plan before the event. In an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services.
Food + allergies
Pizza and sandwiches are planned. Providers, the final menu, and dietary and allergy accommodations are still being finalized. Please share dietary restrictions through registration, or contact organizers. Specific allergy accommodations cannot yet be confirmed.
Transportation
Transportation arrangements are not confirmed. Families should plan to coordinate travel after the venue is announced. Drop-off and pickup instructions will be shared with confirmed logistics.
Check-in + check-out
Check-in, attendance tracking, early departure, and guardian pickup procedures are being finalized. These details will be provided before the event.
Photography
The photography policy, guardian permissions, and any photo opt-out process are pending. Information will be shared before the event so attendees and guardians can make an informed choice.
